We appreciate that everyone has been through a difficult time over the last year. Many patients have thought that the practice has been closed. This has not been the case. We have had to adapt very quickly to a different way of working, which includes triaging most consultations by phone, before the GP, nurse or physiotherapist decide which patients require to be seen face to face in the surgery. Please click the following link for a video explaining how general practice and other local services are working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VxPtWxbYXU
In order to keep the number of patients attending the surgery down we are asking all patients to nominate a pharmacy for their prescriptions to go to directly. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY TO ORDER OR COLLECT REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS UNLESS ADVISED TO DO SO. It would be helpful if you could order your prescription when starting your last week of medication to avoid running out, as it may take longer for pharmacies to collect and process your prescriptions. The number of requests for prescriptions has increased dramatically throughout Covid, which means we cannot accommodate emergency prescription requests for items which are available over the counter. Please remember your usual pharmacy can help with most urgent repeat prescription requests, if the item is not classed as a controlled drug, and the pharmacist can see that it is due. If you are unable to remember to order your prescriptions on time many pharmacies also provide an order and collection service.
