Antenatal Care

Please note the antenatal clinic is no longer run in the practice.  Appointments are arranged by the midwives based at Rankin Maternity Unit.

Child Health

Please note the child health clinic is no longer run in the practice.  Children requiring immunisations will be called to attend an appointment in Wing G at the Health Centre.  Any general advice on  child health can be obtained from the Health Visiting team.  Any children who are unwell should make an appointment to see their GP, if they have an ailment that cannot be remedied over the counter at the free Pharmacy First service in Inverclyde.

Well Woman

The practice nurses provide advice on carrying out breast checks, contraception and sexual health matters, as well as carrying out cervical smears and swabs as necessary. Nurse Conway can fit contraceptive implants after discussion. Times and days vary – please check with reception for appointment availability.

Asthma and COPD

Check-ups and advice from our Practice Nurses on lifestyle, inhaler techniques and medication. Times and days vary – please check with reception for appointment availability.

Complete the online asthma review questionnaire before your annual appointment.

Diabetic

Check-ups and advice on lifestyle and medication by our Practice Nurses. Appointments are arranged by Pauline, in our admin team.

Immunisations

Most immunisations are now carried out by the Community Nursing Team.  Any patients eligible for vaccines such as shingles and pneumococcal vaccines will be contacted when due.

In line with the vaccination transformation programme in Scotland general practice will no longer provide travel health services from 1st April 2022.

4 Travel Vaccines are available on the NHS (Typhoid, Hepatitis A, DPT and Cholera) at no direct cost to the patient.  Any other vaccinations will incur a cost to the patient as at present

Mental Health

Appointments can be made with the CPNs at the practice by self referral for conditions such as anxiety, depression and adjustment issues.  Telephone 01475 558000
